Return Operations and Voluntary Returns Unit

The Unit is reponsible for:

• Planning, implementation and evaluation of return operations and return-related operational activities and for ensuring fundamental rights monitoring and safeguarding in the organisation and coordination of return operations;
  
• Coordinating the chartering of aircraft, vessels, and other technical support needed to implement returns in close consultation with Capacity Building Division or Deployment Management Division as appropriate;
  
• Running a service desk function supporting the organisation and implementation of returns;
  
• Supporting the operational deployment of relevant return-related standing corps profiles;
  
• Developing strategic documents ensuring proper planning, including resources, in coordination with other relevant entities in the agency;
  
• Drafting informational materials, inputs, contributions and reports in the scope of the Unit’s activity, including periodical evaluation reports.
