I served ten years as Team Leader of the Border Guard at a Parisian airport. Amongst my responsibilities, I was the local coordinator for Frontex’ operational activities. Thanks to this I was able to strengthen my relationship with the Agency, which I joined in 2018.
When safeguarding the aerial routes to the EU, building a network between the airports is key. We deploy border guards from various countries, concentrating on crucial air border crossing points in order to ensure proper control. This provides a diversity of expertise and generates direct co-operation amongst different national authorities. The host airport always maintains contact with the deployed officer long after the end of their mission; this is a fine example of sustainable networking at the operational level.
I am enjoying the dynamic and cultural life that Warsaw has to offer, while increasing my working skills in an international environment. Such experience represents a rare and precious opportunity."
