Croatian Police

The Border Police Directorate has been set up within the General Police Directorate as an administrative organisation of the Ministry of the Interior with its own organisational units. In addition to the national level, the Croatian police, as well as the border police which is an integral part of it, is also organised at regional level - police administrations - and at local level - police stations.

The Border Police Directorate is set up to monitor and coordinate all border police measures and actions in the performance of police tasks at the State border, airports and seaports open to international traffic, in the territorial sea and on inland waterways, including the implementation of compensatory measures inland.

In the Republic of Croatia, border control tasks (including compensatory measures) are carried out in 18 police administrations, while all 20 police administrations carry out activities related to irregular migration and foreign nationals.

Cyprus: Police

The Cyprus Police was established in 1960 and its duties and responsibilities include the maintenance of law and order, prevention and detection of crime, apprehension, and presentation of offenders before Justice. As regards the surveillance and maintenance of the security of borders against illegal immigration, the Aliens and Immigration, Port and Marine Police and Air Aviation Police Units with the cooperation of the Cyprus Police Academy, are entrusted with the: effective control of aliens at entry/exit points, surveillance of the coast and territorial limits of the Republic, provision of relevant training to police officers, prevention of illegal immigration to the territory of the Republic, combating of illegal immigration flows to Cyprus and to other Member States of the EU.

Czech Republic: Služba cizinecké a pohraniční policie

The Alien Police Service is an inseparable part of the Czech Police. It is a service with a field of activity for the whole Czech Republic and carries out its tasks according to the Act on Police of the Czech Republic. As a specialised unit of the national police, it carries out the following tasks: entry and residence permit of aliens, residence controls, application and execution of repressive measures, combating illegal migration, illegal employment, investigation of crime activities (committed in connection with the state border and cross-border crime), fulfilling of obligations stemming from international agreements, cooperation with other police services and authorised bodies of other state administrations. Directorate of Police Service for Aliens ensures management, provision of conception, methodology and control towards the regional directorates.
