Frontex training quality assurance system is designed to support a practical process that continuously evaluates the training provided by Frontex to identify areas for improvement while ensuring that the training is adjusted to the actual operational needs. The QA system sets out policies and procedures aimed at guaranteeing that Frontex courses and other training products are designed and delivered to Border and Coast Guard (BCG) professionals in the most effective and efficient manner. Driven by the principles behind the European approach to vocational training and education, the QA policies are intended to promote best practices in training and to prevent any issues that could affect training quality. This includes identification of any matters to be analysed by Frontex training management.
In line with the European approach to quality mechanisms, the training QA system is supported by robust internal monitoring mechanisms with advisory external peer review and supervision. This type of system fosters trust and credibility among the stakeholders engaged in training designed and delivered by Frontex to the border and coast guard community. Furthermore, it demonstrates accountability for Frontex funding commitments through transparent processes that enable the development of cost-effective, learner-centred, and quality-assured courses, utilising eLearning and blended learning technologies to increase the flexibility and effectiveness of training.
