Frontex hosts high-level meeting on document and identity fraud

The latest solutions in document security, identity control, and the fight against document fraud were the main topics of a three-day meeting organised by Frontex and its stakeholders in Warsaw between 27 February and 1 March. Among participants were document experts from the EU Commission, the Frontiers Working Party, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) as well sister agencies: CEPOL, EUROPOL and INTERPOL. 

The discussions hovered around the Frontex-INTERPOL Electronic Document Library – FIELDS, which was launched in France in April 2022. This is a key tool for the management of border control, ready to be to be integrated into national systems. The main beneficiaries of FIELDS will be first -line officers seeking information and document fraud expertise. The library and the meeting in Warsaw attracted attention of the experts from non-EU countries such as Australia, Canada, the Western Balkan countries and Moldova, who also took part in the Warsaw round table.

The last day of the meeting concluded with the first document and identity Industry Day when participating companies showed the latest solutions in the field of documents’ security.
