Frontex Executive
Director Hans Leijtens met in Warsaw with Major General Robert Bagan,
Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Border Guard, for discussions on cooperation
at the EU’s eastern external border.
Talks on Monday
focused on risk analysis, information exchange, situational awareness,
training, and return support. Both sides reviewed current measures at the
border and ongoing areas of cooperation.
The meeting
highlighted the importance of practical cooperation in an evolving security
environment. With Europe’s eastern frontier facing pressure, participants
underlined that border management is a shared responsibility that requires
close coordination.
Frontex and
Polish Border Guard agreed to maintain regular senior-level contacts and
underlined the value of Poland’s support for Frontex activities.
