The Maritime Day served as a platform for ocean leaders to meet, discuss and network. The event featured a variety of inspiring speakers, thematic sessions, workshops and pitch sessions organized by various stakeholders and the European Commission.

Frontex's participation in the special session on inter-agency cooperation was a key moment of the event. The session focused on inter-agency and cross-sectoral cooperation on coastguard tasks, with a focus on information exchange, surveillance services, capacity building activities and multi-purpose maritime operations in selected sea areas. The collective experience of Frontex, EFCA and EMSA in leading and conducting multi-purpose maritime operations was highlighted, demonstrating the achievements and added value of inter-agency cooperation at the service of EU Member States.

Frontex was particularly interested in the sessions on maritime security and maritime cooperation, reflecting its role in ensuring the security of the European Union's maritime borders.

The European Maritime Day was a resounding success, bringing together the maritime community to strategize on critical issues related to the blue economy and the marine environment. Frontex, with its central role in maritime affairs, was at the heart of these discussions, steering the conversation towards a sustainable and secure future for Europe's maritime domain.
