Frontex kicked-off a research support service on Technology Horizon Scanning (THS) to assess the potential use and verify the added value of the advanced technology horizon scanning capabilities.
As the main deliverables, a series of reports with the focus on the latest developments, challenges, gaps and needs that are of relevance for the European border and coast guard community and internal security in general, will be published. The horizon scanning report was dedicated to extended reality and has been already published here.
The first report in the series presents the monthly technology trends extracted between 14 April and 12 May from SensingBridge – an AI-driven platform that aggregates relevant data across technologies and use cases. In this timeframe, the technologies with the highest prevalence on the platform were IoT, autonomous systems, and detection technologies. The full report can be read below.
