Monitoring visits to grant recipients

2024-06-28

Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, recently conducted the monitoring visits to the beneficiaries of the 2022 Frontex Research Grants. These visits, held in April and May 2024, aimed to assess the progress and impact of the funded research projects.

Frontex visited four entities which were awarded the grants: the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences (Estonia), Escola Superior Náutica Infante D. Henrique (Portugal), Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni (Italy) and CAMPUS 02 Fachhochschule der Wirtschaft GmbH (Austria).

The primary purpose of the visits was to monitor the implementation of research projects. Also, by engaging directly with grant recipients, Frontex aimed to foster collaboration, share best practices, and facilitate knowledge exchange. These interactions allowed for valuable insights and feedback, which can guide future research endeavours.

Frontex remains committed to supporting cutting-edge research that strengthens Europe’s external borders. The Agency will continue to monitor progress, encourage collaboration, and promote the dissemination of research outcomes.
