On 16 May, Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard, held the Info Day on 2024 Frontex Research Grants Programme. The event provided the prospective applicants from non-profit organisations and academia with first-hand information about this funding initiative.
The representatives of 17 non-profit research organisations and academic institutions attended the event representing 12 EU Member States and Schengen-Associated Countries. Two current beneficiaries – the Estonian Academy for Security Sciences (Estonia) and Campus 02 Fachhochschule der Wirtschaft (Austria) – shared their experiences and feedback about the Programme and the implementation of the funding.
The agenda included a wide range of topics, such as general information about the Programme, its structure, application criteria, awarding process and lessons learned from the 2022 Call. An entire session was dedicated to the next call for proposals which will be launched at the end of 2024. During the meeting, the participants also had an opportunity to ask questions and network.
