The final meeting of the research study “The Green Deal and the European Border and Coast Guard (EBCG)” took place on the 4th of March, providing the opportunity to sum up everything that has been achieved since the project was launched in June 2021.
The final meeting took stock of the progress made by the research team during the past nine months. The study has successfully delivered the high-level general principles that have a direct and positive impact on the EBCG overall environmental performance and actionable recommendations in the area of sustainability in the short, medium and long term. These recommendations have been shared regularly on the Frontex website in the form of knowledge insights. Today, we publish the last two insights in the area of change management and local community engagement.
The meeting marked an end to the Frontex research study, but also opened the door for new paths of sustainable cooperation, using the tools and knowledge collected in the course of the project.
All results of the study are compiled in a final report, which will be published on Frontex’s website in the upcoming weeks, together with a booklet with a concise summary of all findings.
