FOCUS AREA: no gate solutions, analytics, big data, risk assessment, technology scanning, platform integration

METICOS aims to create an up-to-date acceptance classification scheme as well as a dashboard presenting the impact of border control on society. It aspires to create modern and effective solutions such as “no gate crossing point solutions”, in hope to be widely accepted by the EU citizens.

The project will achieve its objective by providing metrics and key performance indicators to authorities and decision makers based on a number of independent variables: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, physical privacy, accuracy, information privacy, as well as ethical and societal perceptions. Thus, it will bring high value to the three major stakeholder groups within the European border control sector (i.e. travellers, border control authorities & service providers).

 Foreseeable Outcomes:

  •  Development of an IT based platform for monitoring and prediction of social impact and acceptability of modern border control technology
  • Providing Smart Border Management solutions by developing modules for the evaluation of pre-Border Crossing and Border Crossing processes

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 883075
