FOCUS AREA: maritime surveillance, data fusion, CISE, situational awareness, data sharing.

EFFECTOR project presents considerable operational and innovative potential through its focus on improving maritime situational awareness. The project’s main objective is to unlock full capabilities of maritime surveillance systems and data sharing at tactical and strategic level by introducing applied solutions for enhanced border and external security. This will allow a faster detection of new events and a better-informed decision making.

In the past, the focus has been mainly on the data exchange aspect, however there is still a technological gap present within Interoperability Framework that EFFECTOR wants to address. The project will leverage on previous research studies to further develop on their ideas whilst the final solution is to be tested, validated and demonstrated in real operational scenarios together with maritime authorities, end users and practitioners.

Foreseeable Outcomes:

  •  implementation of interoperability framework and associated data fusion and analytics services for maritime surveillance
  •  implementation of multi-layered data lake platform
  • enhancement of operational efficiency and reduction of operational costs in multi-state operations

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 883374
