Invitation for industry to a workshop on advance traveller risk analysis

2017-03-03

This is an open invitation from Frontex to attend an industry day workshop addressing an Advance Traveller Risk Analysis capacity and the potential for industry to provide this capacity today or in the short term.

Advance Traveller Risk Analysis is here understood as a capacity of border authorities for identifying persons of interest before their arrival to the border crossing point, as well as for putting the border guard in a better informed position to carry out border checks in a more effective and efficient manner.

Advance Traveller Risk Analysis makes use, as much as possible, of all immigration intelligence that can be legally collected and processed in advance for the purposes of border management. It includes biographical and travel-related information forwarded by carriers, information existing in government and law enforcement databases as well as open sources. Persons of interest to the authorities may include potential victims (for instance of trafficking in human beings), known and unknown offenders, as well as those who might represent a risk to the country, its citizens or institutions.

Frontex would therefore like to invite to this one-day workshop representatives of leading Vendors / Operators of such capacity to:

  • help EU border authorities to understand the possibilities of such an Advance Traveller Risk Analysis capacity;
  • allow industry to get familiar with the high level technical requirements of a risk-based facilitation proof of concept between selected EU countries and a third country supported by Frontex (where advance traveller analysis will be one of the core elements);
  • allow industry to present their relevant products on the subject matter (concrete and innovative  solutions for realizing an advance traveller risk assessment) in bilateral meetings with Frontex and selected countries;
  • offer industry the possibility to express interest to participate in a proof of concept.

To attend the workshop you will need to register by e-mailing

rdu-technical-assistance@frontex.europa.eu as soon as possible.  Please, include in your registration e-mail a short text describing:

  • Experience of your company in developing advance tactical risk analysis applications or services;

There is a limit of 2 representatives per company. The closing date (and time) for the registrations is 15 March 2017 at 17:00 h, Warsaw local time.

The workshop meeting will take place in Prague, Grandior Hotel,  Na Poříčí 42, 110 00 Praha 1-Florenc, Czech Republic, on 21 March 2016, from 09:30 to 15:30 h, local time.
