Frontex will organise in October 2016 a workshop with European Industry and Academia which developed highly innovative/cutting edge technologies for border security, and particularly equipment/systems and applications which were awarded renowned prizes in international exhibitions of inventions or scientific conferences or contests.
The developers, representatives of the European Border Guard Authorities and Frontex experts will attend the workshop where the mentioned technologies will be presented and their impact on the border security will be discussed.
For the border guard community the meeting constitutes an opportunity to be informed on the available breakthrough technology pertaining to the border control area, to identify options and opportunities for developing future capacities and to offer answers to specific questions and needs for this field.
For Industry and Academia the event can be a proper framework to promote their recognized developments and get in touch with potential end-users.
On these lines, Industry and Academia which developed such technologies is invited to register their interest in contributing to the mentioned event, as presenters, by 24 June 2016, at dragos.voicu@frontex.europa.eu.
A number of proposals will be selected, based on relevance to the mentioned topic. The results of the selection and the precise date of the event will be communicated in July 2016.
