Call for industry and research papers: future training technologies

2023-12-15

Frontex extends its call for industry innovators inviting them to participate in the "Future Training Technologies" event on 28-29 February 2024 in Krakow, Poland. Join us in Krakow to shape the future of law enforcement training technologies.

Call for Industry

Join us in Krakow to contribute to the future of law enforcement training technologies. Be part of this transformative journey and shape the landscape of law enforcement training.

We seek to showcase to 350 participants coming from all EU countries novel and inventive training technologies in two critical domains:

  1. Training management and administration: streamlined learning management systems and document management systems for optimised administrative processes. Analytics tools facilitating precise digital assessments and resource allocation. Adaptive learning solutions, leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) for a learner-centric approach.
  2. Cutting-edge training technologies: virtual reality, simulation tools, gamification, and AI applications tailored to the creation of immersive training environments. Blended technologies, bridging physical and virtual realms through wearables, VR goggles, and robotics. Physical technologies like 3D printing, enabling the creation and sharing of training aids in physical learning environments.

We welcome forward-thinking companies to showcase their pioneering solutions through dedicated sessions or stands at the event.

Selected companies will also have exclusive opportunities for bilateral meetings with participants.

How to participate and register?

Industry representatives and researchers committed to showcasing innovative training solutions can submit their interest by completing an online survey.

Selected proposals aligned with the conference theme will be considered for participation. Attendance remains open to qualified submissions, with technological solutions adhering to EU data protection rules and human rights provisions.

Benefits for the participating companies

Selected participants can anticipate the following benefits:

  • complimentary participation, including access to all conference amenities;
  • preferential rates at nearby hotels;
  • standard stands with necessary technical support to showcase solutions;
  • networking opportunities with 150+ representatives shaping law enforcement technology;
  • participation in panel discussions exploring the future of training technologies;
  • showcasing technological solutions and bilateral meetings with attendees.

    Frontex invites submissions of research papers that explore solutions, concepts, and empirical research directly applicable to enhancing border management education and training capabilities, while significantly contributing to the digitalisation process.

    The key areas of interest for submissions encompass, but are not confined to:

    • emerging training and education technologies, including conceptual models, taxonomies, ontologies, and case studies pertinent to border management-related training;
    • novel case studies and applications employing methods and technologies to enhance the efficiency and content adequacy of border management training and education;
    • legal, data protection, and human rights studies analysing the potential impact and efficient management of emerging training technologies (e.g., AI, mixed reality) in border management contexts;
    • future perspectives on the education and training of the European Border and Coast Guard community, including AI, machine learning approaches, solutions for virtual academies, and training interoperability.

    Requirements for research papers
