Invitation for Industry to exhibit at ED4BG 2017

2017-03-30

On 12 June 2017 Frontex will hold the annual European Day for Border Guards (ED4BG) in Warsaw. Inaugurated in 2010 to mark the fifth anniversary of Frontex, ED4BG presents Europe’s border-guard community with an opportunity to share experiences and best practice, as well as provides a forum for topical discussion, exchange of views between key border-management players, and a platform to bring together the worlds of public service and private industry (http://www.ed4bg.eu).

This year’s event will consist of a series of debates and a technology exhibition. The aim of the technology exhibition during the conference is to provide border guards with hands-on demonstrations of innovative solutions to the challenges they encounter in the performance of their daily activities.

Frontex therefore invites relevant industry and researchers to showcase their most innovative technologies/solutions/products/prototypes during the conference day on 12 June 2017 in the following areas:

a. document verification

b. mobile technology for secure communication and database consultation in border police activities

Frontex reserves the right to reject submissions from companies and researchers that are not relevant to the event theme and to the above listed technology exhibition areas.

To all companies that will be selected to exhibit during the ED4BG 2017, Frontex is offering exhibition space in the venue free-of-charge, however, the participants are asked to cover the cost of their accommodation and shipment/installation of their exhibits.

There will be almost 500 sqm available to be shared by the exhibitors. Taking into account, however, that the physical space for the exhibition is limited (can fit only 25 to 28 exhibitors), in case the number of submissions exceeds the maximum allowable number of companies, exhibitors will be selected in a lottery. The lottery will be open to be attended by the representatives of interested companies (details required from the interested companies to attend the lottery will be announced at a later stage). The lottery will take place on 19 April 2017 at 10:00 am at Frontex premises.

The installation of the equipment can be done the day before the event, namely on 11 June 2017. Catering during the event will be provided.

Apart from the exhibition space Frontex will not provide other support. Companies that will be selected to exhibit can (at their cost) use the professional support of event agency that Frontex cooperates with in the organization of the ED4BG. Contact details of the event agency will be shared with companies that are selected to exhibit.
