Meet Dilek, a transportation expert from the Netherlands working in our operations on Samos, Greece:
“Here on the island of Samos I assist with the transport of migrants who have just arrived to the hotspots. This is my second mission for Frontex. Last year I was already on Lesvos, where I worked in the hotspot as well.
The great thing about this experience is that you work with other colleagues from all around Europe. What’s important is that you have to be a team player. Over here you have to rely even more on your colleagues, as you are here without your family and you miss a certain part of your private life. And you’re away for many weeks, so a good cooperation on the ground is essential.”
