Magdalena from Poland
Assistant, European Centre for Returns
I decided to apply for a job at
Frontex because I’ve always been interested in migration and I wanted to
develop career in this field. I was a trainee in Corporate Services Unit but
now I’m working in ECRet.
Firstly, I was an Assistant to Head of ECRet and my
job required an independent and proactive approach because I had to coordinate
cooperation with key stakeholders, including EU Member States and various EU
institutions. Currently, I am involved in the project developing Integrated
Return Management Application. This is a very challenging and interesting
work. My professional experience combines well with my personal interest in
establishing an integrated EU approach for return operations, streamlining the
processes and identifying good practices.
Moving from administrative to operational unit was a huge challenge for me. At Frontex, I really appreciate diversity. I work with colleagues from many countries who have diverse backgrounds. I enjoy working at ECRet, because return management is a key part of an effective migration policy. I also enjoy the opportunity to cooperate with third-countries and international organisations, which helps me broaden my horizons.
