Training Infrastructures & Networks

Cooperation with external stakeholders from the Member States and Partner Countries is the key to ensure an adequate implementation of the “Frontex regulation”. The Training Infrastructures activities aim at promoting excellence in border guard education and training by maintaining effective cooperation with relevant European stakeholders in Law Enforcement. An ICT platform and eLearning solutions are considered of strategic importance, as they are targeting cost-effective ways to increase capabilities of Frontex, as well of its stakeholders.

National Training Coordinators (NTC) Network

The NTC Network provides Frontex counterparts with a formal platform for continuous dialogue on training matters for the relevant Member Sates representatives to share information and to cooperate on the development and improvement of Frontex training activities.  The involvement of the National Training Coordinators in Frontex training activities promote a long-term sustainable cooperation with the key actors of border guard agencies. At the same time the network stimulates cooperation among the Member States and Partner Countries.

Frontex Partnership Academies (PA) Network

The Partnership Academies network constitutes a key element in promoting excellence in border and coast guard education and training by maintaining effective cooperation with European law enforcement stakeholders. This network of national border guard academies supports Frontex by hosting training activities and by promoting the share of expertise in education and training projects. Frontex has launched a new era of Partnership Academies cooperation with the aim to foster a common sense of the European border and coast guard culture with a set of shared standards, values and practices in border and coast guard education and training, to facilitate and enhance cooperation with border and coast guard training institutions and among those and to optimise the use of available resources for education and training. Increased cooperation with Partnership Academies will focus on the following areas: Stakeholder events, Frontex courses, Exchange Programs, PA Joint developments and Support to national implementation of Common Standards.

Frontex Partnership Academies are located in: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
