The mission of the Division is to assist in safeguarding the well-functioning of and effective security at EU external borders in line with the shared responsibilities of the European Border and Coast Guard by ensuring flexible, robust and multipurpose operational response in managing irregular migration, operationalising the coast guard functions, and implementing law enforcement activities, thus contributing to the cross-border crime prevention, detection and counteraction as well as in relation to document fraud.
The Operational
Response Division consists of the following units: Field Operations, Coast
Guard and Law Enforcement, and Centre of Excellence for Combating Document Fraud.
