ETIAS Central Unit Division

The mission of the Division is to establish, develop, manage and operate the ETIAS Central Unit, as well as to ensure and support the implementation of the large-scale information systems strategy of the European Union.

The main tasks of the Division are:

• Manage and operate the ETIAS Central Unit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;
  
• Define and manage the ETIAS screening rules;
  
• Ensure the security and the lawfulness of the personal data processing in the ETIAS Central Unit;
  
• Exercise the data controller role of the personal data stored in the ETIAS Information System;
  
• Manage the public communication and re-categorising the yellow links in the multiple-identity
  detector (MID).
