Last month Frontex shared the first insight from the Research Study on Sensors Used in Deployable Technologies for Border Surveillance. The project began in 2024, and its main aim is to update information on sensors used in deployable technologies employed in border surveillance.
The current insight presents a preview of a comparative analysis of the technical and operational capabilities of different sensor technologies for border surveillance for the land, air, and maritime domains. For clarity, the results of the comparative analysis are presented in tabular format, together with the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) used to review the examined sensor technologies. These KPIs are used to evaluate technical and functional characteristics, rating the technologies from low to high. By grouping and comparing technologies within their respective domains, the study identifies the best-performing sensors.
Stay tuned for the final insight.
